Two Firmware Updates for Ricoh Caplio GX100

Ricoh has released two firmware updates for the 10.01 megapixel Caplio GX100.

May 12, 2007 — This month Ricoh has released not one but two firmware updates for their new Caplio GX100. The first update on May 2, version 1.12, modified a few features that affected the SEQUENTIAL NO. setting and the fixing of the shutter speed when selecting Aperture priority mode (A Mode) in MY SETTING 2. May 11th Ricoh released version 1.13 which fixes the following issues: The camera may fail to record an image properly in RAW mode with a shutter speed slower than 15 seconds; The camera wouldn’t operate if you pressed the playback button after turning the camera on with the lens cap attached; The phenomenon where the step zoom setting turned off after you changed a mode; improves the stability of the lens control at normal AF.

Firmware Version 1.13 (May 11, 2007)

1. In RAW mode shooting, if a shutter speed is slower than 15 sec., a camera may fail to record an image properly. This has been corrected.

2. If you turn the camera power on with the lens cap attached to the lens, and then press the playback button,the camera will not operate at all. This has been corrected.

3. After you change a mode, the step zoom setting may become OFF. This has been corrected.

4. Improves stability the lens control at normal AF.

Firmware Version 1.12 (May 02, 2007)

1. If you register the Aperture priority mode (A mode) in the [My setting 2], a shutter speed will be fixed. This has been corrected.

2. With your setting the [SEQUENTIAL NO.] ON, after a file number reached to “9999″, the “File Number Over” message will appear and you will not able to take a picture any more. This has been corrected.
