The Ins and Outs of RAW Capture

RAW capture is often misunderstood yet many consumer level cameras are arriving with RAW as one of the choices for capture. In a recent article at PopPhoto digital imaging expert Tim Grey takes an up close and personal look and the ins and outs of RAW capture. In addition there is a detailed explanation of the use of Adobe Photoshop CS3 for RAW file conversion.

Tim points out that RAW indeed offers photographers maximum photo quality opportunities. As with most things what the right hand giveth the left taketh away, which in the case of shooting in RAW is the addition of RAW conversion being added into the work flow. Is the added effort of conversion worth the effort…?
