Tamron Press Release:
The winner of the Tamron “Life Celebrations” 2005 photo contest is Sherry Hamilton of Rome, Ga., USA. Her image of silhouetted father and child captured the theme perfectly, the company said. Hamilton’s image was shot using the Tamron AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Aspherical LD IF Macro and a film camera. Tamron received almost 500 submissions from Tamron users across the country. The contest was promoted to recently registered users of the company’s flagship Megazoom lenses, 28-300mm and 18-200mm, through a printed newsletter. [Tamron Announces 2005 Photo Contest Winner]
“We were pleased with the great enthusiasm our newsletter readers showed in both the number of entries we received and in the wonderful images they selected to share with us,” said Stacie Errera, chief marketing officer of Tamron USA Inc., Commack, N.Y. “We received so many poignant and fun photographs that we actually decided to award 15 others with an honorable mention.”
Hamilton received a Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II LD Aspherical IF Macro. The 2005 winning image and the 15 honorable mentions can be viewed online at www.tamron.com, by clicking on galleries.
