CNET.co.uk - 28 February’08 - reviews the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 and noted it’s almost identical to the W80 in its feature set. Here’s a summary of their review -
“Even though the camera is part of Sony’s budget line it does have a 9 point auto focus and face detect which makes taking pictures of people a little easier. With a fast shutter time the camera overall suffers from low performance and when the reviewer turned the flash on the camera performance went WAY down. Review comments regarding image quality were limited to “generally they looked pretty good.” Probably due to the test camera apparently to have a misaligned sensor/lens. Owners of the W80 won’t get any advantages by upgrading to the W90″
PCAdvisor - 06 February’08 - reviews the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 and thought that as long as you stay below ISO 800 your pictures will be fine. Here’s a summary of their review -
“Fast operating and a ton of features make this a great digital camera. The reviewer notes that if had manual controls it would be a perfect camera. Under direct sunlight the LCD is tough to see which makes the optical viewfinder VERY handy. Colors were rich and vibrant, perhaps a little too vibrant yet skin tones were rendered just fine.”
StevesDigicams - 10 May’07 - reviews Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 and they write, “Sony has created another welcomed addition to their already popular Cyber-shot “W” series. It offers speedy performance, great image quality, and loads of high-end features, all packed in a very compact and durable shell. With an MSRP of only US$229, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 offers an outstanding value for such a capable 8-megapixel consumer model. And, with that much resolution, the printing possibilities are almost endless!”
Digital Trends - 4/26/2007 - reviews the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 and they write, “I have no problems recommending this latest addition to the W series. It’s compact, speedy, easy-to-use, and takes good-quality photographs. However, I’ll keep squawking about the lack of a cable for the touted HD Output on your HDTV. If that piece of wire was in the box, this one might have received an Editor’s Choice. If that isn’t a problem for you, by all means, buy it.”
