Sony Cyber-shot DSC-R1 User Review At Photographic Review

Updated on December 4, 2005

Sony’s 10 megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-R1 has had a fairly lengthy user review at Photographic Review and here is an excerpt. “I think a camera like any other device, should be judged on what it is intended to do for the price and only that. I see so many reviews comparing this camera to other cameras meant to do so much more. Why? I never understood the point of that argument. Bottom line, this camera is meant as an artist’s camera, someone who is patient and takes their time between shots. Not a sports photographer’s camera, or anything else. ”

The F828 was often criticised for producing fringing in certain types of shots. I have never been able to find it in over 2500 photos taken with the camera. perhaps the review could compare the two cameras over this issue?
