Cameras.co.uk - 4/10/2007 - reviews the 10 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and writes, “I always like to see a digital camera offering something different to the rest. The Sony DSC N2 does this through its touch screen and also its manual exposure mode. Picture quality is good and the camera is stylish as well. Whether or not the camera offers good value for money will depend on how important these extra features are to you.0 ISO - 3-inch touch screen LCD monitor - Effectively distortion-free lens - 10-megapixel image size - Competitively priced.”

Megapixel - 3/29/2007 - reviews the 10 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “Negatives: Aside from resolution - no additional improvements over the previous model - Relatively power hungry - Flash limited to short distances unless Auto ISO is use Positives: Very good to excellent image quality - Low noise up to 400 ISO - 3-inch touch screen LCD monitor - Effectively distortion-free lens - 10-megapixel image size - Competitively priced”

Steve’s Digicams - 2/3/2007 - reviews the 10 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “Like its predecessor, the N2 is a very nice compact digital camera. Offering great performance, pleasing image quality, various exposure modes, and let us not forget the massively “Cool” 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD, I do believe that the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-N2 is sure to be a very popular model this year. With an MSRP of US$399, there won’t be too hard of a tug on your pocket book, especially for a feature packed 10-megapixel digicam. And with that much resolution, printing ideas are almost endless!”

CNET Asia - 1/19/2007 - reviews the 10 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “The good: Large 3-inch LCD screen; manual features, if somewhat limited. The bad: Touchscreen menu navigation is a love-it or hate-it affair; no optical image stabilization. The bottom line: Other than the slight increase in resolution, the Cyber-shot DSC-N2 isn’t much different from its predecessor.”

DPInterface - 12/24/2006 - has reviewed the 10 megapixel, image stabilized and 3x optical zoom Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “I think the Sony N2 is geared more to the snap and share group of people. With the fancy playback feature paired with the large touchscreen along with the paint ability and 500-shot album, you’ll quickly have a group of friends crowded around you and your camera. Those who want some manual control with high resolution may also want to check out the N2. Unless you’re shooting studios or sports, you’ll find the Sony N2 appealing and on your considerations list.”

CNET - 11/21/2006 - has reviewed the 10 megapixel, image stabilized and 3x optical zoom Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “The good: Speedy shooting in well-lit scenes. The bad: Fuzzy images; shutter lags when shooting in dim light; some users might find the touch screen awkward. The bottom line: The Sony Cyber Shot DSC-N2 is small and fast, but compression artifacts and an awkward touch screen hinder its use.”

Camera Labs - 11/15/2006 - has reviewed the 10 megapixel, image stabilized and 3x optical zoom Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “So like many new cameras this year, much of what’s best about the N2 was present in its predecessor, and while the N2 is capable of recording more detail, the difference between 8.1 and 10.1 Megapixels isn’t great in practice. Ultimately the N2 is a gadget-packed, stylish compact that delivers great quality pictures at lower sensitivities, and as such comes Highly Recommended, but if you happen to find an N1 at a bargain price, you might want to snap it up instead.”

Imaging Resource - 10/11/2006 - has reviewed the 10 megapixel, image stabilized and 3x optical zoom Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “The camera’s touch-screen technology allows for a clean body style (perfect for pockets) while enabling a much simpler user interface. Touch controls not only extend to the Sony N2’s main menu functions, but also let you alter images in-camera with the Paint tool, and pinpoint focus exactly where you want it as you shoot, all with a simple touch of the screen. Add to this the Sony N2’s 10-megapixel CCD, available manual exposure control, and host of creative tools, and you have an extremely capable camera that takes great pictures in a wide range of situations. Though the higher ISO settings do produce quite a bit of image noise, the Sony N2 is still quite capable of capturing useable images under very bright or dark conditions.”

DCRP - 9/29/2006 - has reviewed the 10 megapixel, image stabilized and 3x optical zoom Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2 and they write - “All-in-all, the Cyber-shot DSC-N2 is a nice ultra-compact camera, and one that I can recommend to most people. If you take a lot of photos in unusual lighting conditions then I’d skip it, but for everyone else, it’s a good choice. One shopping hint for you all: the “old” DSC-N1 can be found for $100 less than the N2, and it offers all the features you’ve read about here, save for the marketing-driven 10MP sensor and high sensitivity mode. If you like the N2, it might be worth seeking out the N1 instead to save some money.”
