Sony Blasts Through Profit Ceiling

Even though Sony reported fourth quarter losses they polished off the year with net profits totaling US$1.5, soaring to more than double the electronic heavy hitters reported 2004 earnings. Sony indicated sales in the digital camera, flat panel TV and SCD rear projection areas have been positive. They also indicated sales have hit the skids in the CRT television and portable audio markets. Opting on the safe side Sony expects net profit for the 2006 to decline because of company restructuring.
