Mine also suffers from the same problem. Get a good set of high-capacity rechargeables. I think the camera requires a high startup current which most batteries are unable to sustain.

I bought this camera for 71 dollars at overstock.com! Other stores has it going for 130 all the way up to 300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the camera if it would work better. It goes thru batteries real fast but also comes up with distorted pictures, half of them as if cut in half and the bottom half retaken on the top half. It’s crazy! Anyone else?

I have found if you use anything below 2300mah nimh batteries it will not perform for very long at all. Get a good set of 2600 or above nimh’s and you will fix the problem!! Love this camera – been looking to upgrade to something better but can’t find anything worthy without spending a fortune!

I just bought this camera and used it on a trip to Paris and noticed the same thing Nancy did – a problem with batteries. It ate through about 5 packs of 4 AA batteries after just one week! I am absolutely floored about this and would like to know if this is some kind of defect (my sister-in-law also experienced the same problem with hers).

I have this camera and seem to have problems with the batteries. I have tried every kind and can only get about 25 pictures out of a fresh set of batteries. (disposable or rechargable) Anyone else have this problem?
