ThinkCamera has reviewed the Samsung NV20 and they write -
“Where the Samsung NV20 scores highest is in the value stakes. Arriving with a sturdy body and a lithium ion battery make it an extremely competitive camera. Add in the extremely easy to drive interface and a good set of in-camera tools and it reads like a bargain. And, as long as you stay below ISO 200, that’s exactly what it is! “
Cameras.co.uk – 14 January’08 – reviews the Samsung NV20 and warns that looks can be deceiving. Here’s a summary of their review -
“If the cameras image quality was just a even a little better it would definitely be worth taking a look at but as it stands it just can’t compete with other digital cameras in its class. It feels good in the hands and it has some handy manual controls but factor in the digital noise and compared to a group of other digital camera failed miserably in handling glare from the sun.”
PCW – 19 December’07 – reviews the Samsung NV20 and was not impressed with the cameras face detection capabilities. Here’ and excerpt fro the review -
“As always with cameras of this size, some image processing and noise reduction is visible even at low ISO settings, but overall we were impressed with the image quality of the NV20, which delivered very good exposures and natural-looking images.”
Unbeatable.co.uk – 28 November’07 – reviews the Samsung NV20 and was disappointed that digital noise began to appear even at ISO 200. Here’ and excerpt fro the review -
“The Samsung NV20 is a thoughtfully made digital camera that has many impressive features to assist in creating superb images. There are a few minor flaws that can be improved upon given a bit of time and effort, but overall the NV20 produces some great results and is a strong and solid, as well as attractive, camera.”
PhotographyBlog – 15 October’07 – reviews the Samsung NV20 and felt the new sensor actually makes the image quality worse. Here’ and excerpt fro the review conclusion -
“The NV20 still remains a brave attempt to do something totally different, with a unique menu interface that makes the camera easier to understand and navigate than a conventional system, but it doesn’t improve on the previous generation of NV cameras. Sadly, although the NV20 offers a truly unique user experience, the images that it produces don’t match the high quality of the rest of the camera.”
Pocket-lint – 01 October’07 – reviews the Samsung NV20 and offers the following verdict;
“Overall we weren’t that impressed by the NV20, it might look good, but in use its awkward, gimmicky and worse of all the images aren’t great.
Like the NV10 before it’s Nice looks don’t cover up its failings, and it’s a shame to see Samsung hasn’t learned from its mistakes first time around.”
