TechTree has reviewed the Samsung NV15 and they write -
“The Samsung NV15 is available for Rs. 14,000 with a one-year warranty. For that price, what you get is a good-looking and stylish camera that gives just about average quality images. For now, the Canon Pwershot A720 IS is the best camera you’ll find for that price band.”
TrustedReviews – 18 March’08 – reviews the Samsung NV15 and felt it had terrific performance. Here’s a summary of their review -
“Samsung’s Smart Touch control system is a feature you will no like or really like. However, good build quality, great performance and a nice set of features in the end cannot save the camera. Image quality is always the ultimate test and in the case of the NV15 it did not airs so well. In fact, the reviewer indicates it is poor image quality with tons of digital noise at all ISO levels.”
CNET.co.uk – 27 November’07 – reviews the Samsung NV15 and thought the cameras picture quality was good and the user interface exceptional. Here’s an excerpt from their review conclusion -
“Users unwilling to skate the learning curve required by the NV15’s unusual interface will probably be happier with a more conventional camera, like the Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1080. Another feature-rich alternative with an intuitive interface is the Ricoh Caplio R7, which boasts a simple mini joystick. But the NV15’s smart touch system is definitely worth getting to grips with as part of an outstandingly well-designed compact camera.”
Steves-Digicams – 18 November’07 – reviews the Samsung NV15 and indicates the image quality is only fair. Here’s an excerpt from their review conclusion -
“While it’s stylish and offers some very helpful features and exposure modes, it’s slower performance and poor image quality results really disappointed us. The dark, textured-aluminum case is striking and durable, and the NV15 worked flawlessly with both Windows Vista and Macintosh OS X computers. Therefore, we feel if you are in the market for a durable and compact 10-megapixel digicam, be sure to look at each offering from the various manufactures out there.”
DigitalCameraReview – 14 November’07 – reviews the Samsung NV15 and comments that that this camera had the ability to compete with bigger more expensive cameras. Here’s an excerpt from their review conclusion -
“The final verdict, then, on the Samsung’s overall image quality is mixed: On the one hand, the slightly warm color rendering comes closer to subtle than many of its competitors. On the other, image quality issues stemming from a highly limited lens and some poor in-camera processing choices may hurt the NV15’s appeal with the very group of intermediate and advanced users that Samsung is clearly trying to woo with features like a full manual mode and user-set white balance.”
