Digital Camera Shopper Mag (September 2006 issue) has reviewed the 8 megapixel Ricoh Caplio 500G wide and they write - “Noise is the 500G Wide’s biggest failing. It’s apparent on nearly all images taken in anything other than bright light, when viewed at actual pixel level. However, if you’re looking for a camera that is not bothered by dirt, sand, water, and even drops onto the concrete this just might be your camera.”
The 500G’s features include:
- 3X optical zoom
- 28-85mm equivalent lens
- Camera-shake blur reduction
- 2.5-inch screen
- Optical viewfinder
- ISO of 1600
