by DCT on December 7, 2005

Press Release:

PhotoShare: Portable Digital Photo Album & Frame

December 7, 2005 – Photoco today introduces PhotoShare, a new portable digital photo album that promises to revolutionize the photo world as dramatically as Apple’s iPod has revolutionized the music world. With retail prices surprisingly affordable for, all in the $59-$99 range, the way people store and share their photos may change quite quickly. The PhotoShare is available with a 2.4″ LCD ($59) or 7.0″ LCD($99). Both models include a great-looking frame that you slide the player into for desktop display.

Photoshare December 28, 2005 at 12:02 pm

I just bought the photoshare 7 for my parents for Christmas. I was impressed with the look of the unit, when it was turned off (Walmart had no display samples and the units come in sealed blister packs). I became immediately dissapointed with the unit once I turned it on.

The screen resolution is very low. The unit will scale your pictures to the size of the screen, but the pictures look bad if they’re scaled too much. So, I wanted to crop and resize pictures before going into the unit. Guess what … the product manual and website (photoco.com) fail to tell you what the native resolution of the screen is. So, I called photoco (800-955-5505) and asked for technical support. The designer was off this week (28-Dec-05), and the receptionist wasn’t able to answer my question. I have yet to try and email them (info@photoco.com)

For $99, this product has a low price, but the quality is very low as well.

Buyer beware!

HELP! I received your xl as a Christmas present to hold photos of my new grandson. I then ordered the leather case and lithium battery. They came in the mail yesterday. I plugged in the adapter and cannot see any picture when my Sony scandisk is inserted. The screen says “NO DEVICES FOUND.” I am very frustrated. Please contact me to support your product. My daughter and son-in-law are disappointed that I am having so much difficulty since the initial present was from them.

I received a digital photo for christmas in december-it no longer works, the frame has no light to it. I am looking for someone to tell me what to do to fix this, and or can I get it replaced as it was a gift. But looking at all of the other emails, I am guessing that I am out of luck. Must just be a junk product! It was a gift. However my brother paid $99.00 for it. Live and learn…

I just tried to take my Photoshare 7 back to WalMart but they said that I had to contact the manufacturer. As the rest of the customers’ comments, the item quit working and went blank and wouldn’t turn back on. I guess it is a piece of shit just like the company that made it. It looks and sounds like we all got taken on this product. I bought this item for my 88 year old Mother and now she is out the Christmas gift she received from me because of this company not backing up their product. I will never buy this company’s products again.

I received a Photo Share 7D for Christmas 07. Got it set up and began using, but it would turn itself off. Had to reset the whole thing constantly. Arriving home from a recent trip, noticed it was off again. Found the screen is just black. Of course I kept the box and info, to find diconnected numbers and no website anymore. My son paid alot for this and I feel so bad. (Last Christmas another son gave me a Pandigital What a difference in quality and things it will do.) Does anyone know…can I just replace an internal bulb or something? Think another company could fix the Photo Share? Any help would be appreciated, although from reading, I am guessing it will end up in the trash. Sad.

Im very disappointed in this product. I have wasted my money for mainly false hopes..I purchased this unit mainly for movies/media…i have a sony walkman with a 2.0 screen that does waaaay better than this..I have tried to call and contact customer service and I get no answer or numbers isnt working. This is ridiculous…I get a message everytime that states’ files cant be found or devices cant be found..but it’s found on my cpu!!!!!….How can this be resolved…

James Litchford June 9, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Sames as posts above…bought as a Christmas present…now no back-light. No warranty or support. Shouldnt WallMart back this product??

Val Dickison June 24, 2009 at 5:15 am

I recieved the Photo Share 7D Photo Frame as a Christmas gift from my husband. The remote did not work, contacted customer service in January, it’s now the end of June, was told to send it back to them for replacement so I did. NOTHING since then, called the 800# several times and left messages, now the phone number is no longer in service! VERY dissatisfied in the company for not only the product but the way they treat the customers!! But after reading others comments, I guess I,m not the only fool to end up with junk while the “Big Company” has my hard earned dollars.

Roy Fink, Ocala, Fla. July 8, 2009 at 12:34 pm

Well it looks like I will join the group of suckers who will not get a reply about my Photoshare7d. It don’t work and I agree with one other comment that it is a piece of crap and must represent the company that makes it. I take it that they don’t read any of these comments and probably don’t really care. Well they won’t get any more of my hard earned money.

Bob Montgomery July 20, 2009 at 3:51 pm

Once more now… I have received a PhotoShare Digital Photo Album and Frame PL -7 but did not receive a copy of the MANUAL needed to operate
it. Please send a copy of the MANUAL for the PhotoShare Digital Album and Frame PL -7 to me. Bob Montgomery, 120 Pepper Tree Rd., Chula Vista, CA 91910 Thanks, Bob

Wish I had found these comments before I ordered. Got a Photoshare model 4p/4pb so I could load phots for my 78yr old Mother of her great grandson and niece, both living in other states. Followed the directions and the screen shows PC connection established, key is temporarily inoperative!
So none of the keys work and my computer has a listing for a removable disk j and k. Every time I click on these, they want me to install a disk. The instructions are of no help

Well I too, have been had by the photo easyshare 7d. I have spent weeks trying to get some help with this product. But by the looks of these testimonials I am just SOL. This really upsets me, as a professional photographer. I was using this product to advertise my pictures in my studio and just like some of you, I come in one day and my screen is black. The pictures are still running, but the screen is so dark it looks like the power is off. These people need to be sued or Walmart needs to back the customer on this. They can keep the money, but I would like to at least have a working product! I knew I should have trusted a well known brand instead of this junk! Anyone have any suggestions, please email me jmmimagecatcher@hotmail.com-subject: photo easyshare 7d

Sincerely,
Severely frusterated in KY

Circuit board burn up due to crappy workmanship.

Greta Michels November 15, 2009 at 2:22 pm

Additional comment. Just like many others, my picture showed dark. You faintly see the pictures. They were still running. Everything else was working but there was no clear picture. After all the comments on this page, my daughter decide to open it up. Since she is an expert on circuit boards, she noticed right away, that the board had a burn in it. Had to be replaced or thrown away. Since all the comments on this page again, we decided to throw it away.
