Megapixel – 02 October’07 – reviews the Pentax Optio T30 and writes;
“The smallest T-series camera to date, the Optio T30 remains easy to manipulate thanks to its large touch-screen. However, albeit that an interface which is entirely based on a touch-screen is interesting, it is not particularly quick in use: in many cases changing a setting requires tapping the screen a number of times to reach the desired option, and then backing out, a time-consuming process.”
All Things Digital – 7/20/2007 – has reviewed the Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and like the fact that it offers on-screen editing like drawing on a photo. Reviewer Walt Mossberg indicated it was just as easy to use his fingernail as the supplied stylus for editing chores. With the inclusion of touch screen technology the cameras user friendliness factor is high. He did however complain about the inability of the LCD screen to hold up in bright sunlight.

Trusted Review – 6/25/2007 – has reviewed the Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and writes, “The Pentax Optio T30 is a significant improvement on the innovative but flawed T20. The touch-screen technology provides a real advantage in speed of operation and is very easy to use, with some fun features in image playback. Performance is a bit on the slow side, but design and build quality are excellent. Picture quality is about average for the class, but high-ISO results are surprisingly good.”
What Digital Camera Magazine – 6/8/2007 – has reviewed the Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and writes, “Navigating through pictures is swift, as is focusing, except in low light. Start-up time is not too bad, as is the general functioning speed. A great camera to have fun with, with useful features, but let down by average image quality.”
Digicamera – 5/28/2007 – has reviewed the Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and writes, “The Optio T30 is a camera that requires some getting used to as almost everything is done via a touchscreen instead of conventional buttons and levers. Once you practice a bit and become familiar with the different interface, the camera becomes extremely simple to use and operate. In fact, most operations are a lot quicker and easier to access with the touchscreen. To make the deal sweeter, Pentax threw in that terrific, huge 3-inch LCD with such a wide viewing angle that you can see the picture no matter what angle or direction you look at it. The camera is also sleek and attractive, and small and light enough to fit into a pocket.

The T30’s emphasis is very clearly on the screen and touch interface, and those are superbly implemented. Anyone not interested in them may be disappointed in the camera’s lack of a super-macro mode, active shake reduction or manual exposure modes. They should look at the Optio A30, a more conventional, costlier camera.”
Photography Review – 5/9/2007 – has a pro review of the Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and writes, “The Pentax Optio T30 is leading the way for point-and-shoot digital camera design. With some minor improvements to the camera and some image quality improvement the Optio T30 could be the camera all others will be measured against. And the price is great, too! Similar quality (image-wise) cameras run $100 more and they don’t have the whiz-bang touch screen. This one is going on my short list of must buy point-and-shoots.”
TechDigest – 4/23/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and writes, “The T30 is a great point and shoot camera that’s easy to use and creates great pictures. It’s reasonably priced at £189.99 for a 7.1 megapixel camera and it’s small enough to carry with you most places you go.

The touch sensitive screen is very simple to operate, although it is prone to greasy marks after a little use. Internally there’s only 20MB of storage, but you can add more via the SD card slot.”
Pocket-lint – 4/16/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and writes, “We loved the T20, however we didn’t love the fact that it took so long to take pictures that you miss the action.

Perhaps, we would like to think so, listening to our criticisms, Pentax has gone away and virtually fixed all our grumbles while keeping the image quality top notch.

A vast improvement making this a great rather than good camera.”
ePhotozine – 3/29/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Pentax Optio T30 digital camera and writes, “As the Optio T30 is fairly automated – there are no aperture and shutter priority modes, but there is exposure compensation – it is selling itself as as a pain-free, gadget or beginners camera. To that end, as long as the results are within acceptable limits, then it’s the design, build quality, value for money and ease of use that will sell the camera, not the overall performance. In aiming at this market, Pentax have done a very good job, as with the 3in LCD, it’s very easy to see what is being changed. Admittedly, the use of three different menu areas is slightly confusing initially, but the camera is so easy to use that even this will be mastered by a beginner without too much trouble. Aside from the interface, the other standout feature of the T30 is the ISO range which runs from 64 to an astonishing 3200. While the top mode is all but unusable except for black and white photos, it’s impressive to see such a wide range on a compact. However, the selling point of the camera is the touch screen interface and the 3in LCD and these work well, making the camera a very solid purchase for the first time buyer.”
