“The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ50 churned out an average performance, similar to an entry-level camera. We weren’t entirely jazzed with the images produced by the camera due to its poor dynamic range.”

“Luddites and camera snobs may whine about the loss of manual controls but can console themselves with the consistently terrific images.”

“After making a series of 8.5×11 full-bleed prints my takeaway regarding quality was O.K., nothing super special here. Colors for the most part were accurate but they didn’t have the pop I like.”

LapTopMag
“Generally, the TZ50S’ image quality was very good. Images were clean, with decent sharpness, good color, and nice contrast. However, highlights in brightly lit scenes lost detail, and images shot at ISO 400 or higher exhibited moderate noise.”

“This is an outstanding little super-zoom. While this model is very similar to its siblings, the addition of the 9-megapixel imager, huge 3.0-inch LCD, 720p HD movie mode and Wi-Fi capabilities are greatly accepted and appreciated.”

“It’s hard to find fault with the TZ50 as a basic compact ultrazoom camera. The T50 offers all the performance and flexibility of the excellent TZ5, which is certainly why many consumers will find it so appealing.”

Actual Owner Feedback

“Camera on regular usage is excellent and pictures are very clear. Wi-fi connection is another thing. At home or at the office it takes many tries to have it connect. I had it about a month, then it constantly asks me to turn the camera off and on again and it refuses to connect.”

“This is an outstanding camera. Muuuuuuch better than previous Panasonic models. The picture quality is great and the camera is very easy to use. A few friends of mine have the Canon and Sony models but after they saw the DMC-TZ50S they were blown away.”

“I’m very satisfied with this camera. It’s loaded with features.
While you will find on expert reviews that the manual control is poor, it’s not that bad, in the manual mode you can even modify the shutter speed and the exposure (better than most ELPH Canon cameras, you will have to choose on a limited set of options for this though).”

“My relative is enjoying hers now, and I have been quite impressed with the results. This camera performs superbly under both bright and low light conditions without a flash, certainly an impressive result for a camera as small and compact as this.”
