Wow!

That price is outrageous Sari! Can't you get someone to buy it as a gift and then have them send it to you...?

I am frustrated as I won't be able to buy it for xmas :( !

Today I wanted to buy the LX3 but then I found out that it has no HDMI interface. Why Panasonic´s engineers do not talk together?! My Panasonic plasma has the component interface on the back, the panel is hanging on the wall. How should I get connected it. HDMI is the standard of the future, why this old fashoned component interface? I will not buy the camera only of this reason and will wait for LX3 with HDMI.

The LX3 is a very nice looking camera, which merits buying a deluxe carrying case. While Panasonic makes a case that's suitable for wearing around the neck, I prefer the Leica DLux4 case for carrying on the shoulder.

Got my LX3 yesterday. Despite heavy testing and playing with options I was not able to get better resolution or quality using RAW. Here is what I did: all contrast/sharpness/saturation/noise reduction under film mode in the LX3 settings set to minus 2 (lowest) and plus 2 (highest). Convert from RW2 to TIF using SilkyPix, sharpening and noise reduction disabled. Comparison between JPG, TIF with or without LX3-film mode settings showed differences in color, saturation, contrast, but not resolution/sharpness. RAW useless ?????
