TrustedReviews reviews the Olympus Stylus 760 and writes;
“n most respects the Olympus Stylus (mju) 760 is a typical feature-starved budget-priced 3x zoom pocket compact, but superior build quality, stylish design, excellent low-light focusing and of course its weatherproof body set it apart from the crowd. Image quality is no better than most cameras in its class, but no worse either. As a basic snapshot camera it offers excellent value for money.”
Good Gear Guide – 7/4/2007 – has reviewed the Olympus Stylus 760 (Mju 760) and they write, “Similarly the unit’s design is fantastic. While the trademark Olympus wedge shape has gotten a little thicker on these newer units, it is still a distinctive and attractive shape that slips easily into a pocket or bag. This model comes in either a silver or lavender face plate, both of which look great. As usual with these Olympus compacts, the MJU 760 is also weather proof. Completely constructed of metal, it is capable of being used in windy and rainy conditions without deteriorating the quality of the shots. Of course this doesn’t mean it is fully water proof, but light drizzle shouldn’t prove a problem.”
Cameras.co.uk – 5/4/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Olympus Stylus 760 (Mju 760) and they write, “The Olympus MJU 760 falls short in my view when it comes to the all important picture quality. Weatherproof digital cameras are few and far between, so it is a shame to see it is unable to quite hit the heights some of its rivals can.”
Pocket-lint – 4/25/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Olympus Stylus 760 (Mju 760) and they write, “The combination of a very pretty and pocketable camera you can use in almost all weathers makes the Mju 760 a tempting treat. Its £200 price tag is attractive too and providing you don’t expect to make big prints from higher sensitivity shots, the Olympus Mju 760 is a great little compact.”
ImagingResource – 4/9/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Olympus Stylus 760 (Mju 760) and they write, “Olympus’s Stylus 760 camera is a very handy size, and can produce good pictures under the right conditions. In my testing though, I was expecting more from its image stabilization system. You can always push an IS system beyond its limits, but I never felt I saw the level of sharpness improvement I’d normally expect from an image-stabilized camera when I was shooting with the 760. My other big gripe was that I found the LCD monitor way too hard to use outdoors, it’s just too reflective. With no optical viewfinder on the camera, outdoor shooting was not pleasant. It was usable if there wasn’t direct sun, and it was always OK indoors, but in full sun I found it almost impossible to frame my shots. I liked the camera operationally, the buttons were easy to use and the menu navigation was easy to learn.”
Steve’s Digicams – 4/2/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Olympus Stylus 760 (Mju 760) and here are their thoughts, “the Olympus Stylus 760 continues the tradition of the Stylus line by offering good image quality, great performance, and sleek design all packed in a weather resistant shell. This model rose to the top of our list in this series. The image quality could be better and unfortunately it uses the incredibly slow xD memory cards that Olympus and Fujifilm designed (we hope someday they’ll switch to SD).”
CNET – 2/26/2007 – has reviewed the 7.1 megapixel Olympus Stylus 760 (Mju 760) and here are their thoughts, “Though its images aren’t perfect and it’s a bit sluggish, the Olympus Stylus 760 is still a good compact camera. Its light, pocketable design and logical, simple features make it a fine choice for anyone who wants a small camera he or she can take nearly anywhere.”
