Nikon’s Digital Camera Line-Up Gets In Your Face: Ibarionex Perello recently wrote an atricle in PCPhoto which discusses Nikon’s new Face-Recognition technology. Ibarionex points out that there’s nothing more frustrating than taking a portrait that you think will be beautiful only to find that the background is in sharp focus rather than the person.

“Nikon promises to reduce such moments of exasperation with the introduction of Face Priority Auto-focus. Found in its latest generation of compact digital cameras, which include the Coolpix 5900, 7600, 7900 and S1 models, the technology is designed around algorithms that recognize facial features, which are then used to determine focus detection.”
