I bought a Nikon L100 5 months ago, while some early pictures were okay, some were not good, I put this down to inexperience with the camera even in easy auto mode (bullet proof?)
I learned and adjusted, but whenever I came back to the \"easy\" things were much worse so after some terrible Halloween photographs taken i decided to bring the camera back to the retailer (Blacks) and asked them to return it to Nikon for evaluation. Nikon\’s report said the camera has external damage and \"water penetration\" and the warranty is voided!! they will sell me the same camera at $20 more than I paid originally.
BEWARE of the Nikon NON-WARRANTY they take resposibility for MOTHING. My camera has never been knocked, dropped, bumped or bashed… even gently, as for water, well a raindrop once hit the shell before I could get it back into the camera bag I store it in.

I have to say, although I\’m not a professional photographer. I find the L100 no different than a point and shoot camera. The pictures are of good quality.The menu is a little difficult to navigate, especially when you are \’in the moment\’. I like it, and I\"ll keep it. My next camera will be a Cannon – sorry Nikon
