I heard something about the Canon 5D Mark II getting a firmware issue to do something with Autofocus, but wasn't sure if that's what they accomplished. So who is the winner here - Nikon or Canon? Nikon does the image stabilization via the lens, not the camera body. So if you don't buy a VR lens, you don't have image stabilization. The D5000 is *NOT* “optical image stabilized”.

Best is to put it on manual focus and then keep focussing as the camera continues to record movie.
