New Law Hits Aggressive Photographers In The Pocketbook

Beginning January 1, 2006 a new California low goes into effect that increases penalties against overly aggressive photographers. Hate em or love em, paparazzi are the ones that capture those candid pictures of celebs in unguarded moments. And of course they are inspired to capture such images because of monetary reward and worldwide distribution.
Dubbed “stalkerazzi” - those who forcefully thrust their cameras into famous faces or crash their car into a celebrity’s vehicle. They’ll now be liable for three times the damages they inflict, plus lose any payments their published photos might earn. Publishers can also be held liable.
