Popular Photography Magazine - 7/9/2007 -has reviewed the Leica C-Lux 2 and they write, “The Leica C-LUX 2 offers additional software over the Lumix DMC-FX50, including Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 (which is a Windows-only version) or Photoshop Elements 3 and 4 for Macintosh users and a 2-year warranty, making the higher cost slightly more palatable. For the die-hard Leica fan, the C-LUX 2 offers a good feature set in a very attractive design, but unless you’re dead-set on your next pocket digicam bearing the famous red dot, it may be difficult to justify the steep price when there’s a Panasonic version for half the price.”
PhotoReview - 4/25/2007 - has reviewed the 7.2 megapixel Leica C-Lux 2 and they write, “Pictures from the test camera were sharp, with natural-looking colours and a wider than average dynamic range. Unlike the Panasonic FX07 camera we reviewed last year, the C-Lux 2 did not produce colour shifts with high ISO settings in dim lighting or with flash. Image noise was, however, visible at ISO 400 and above, although it wasn’t particularly obvious until the top (ISO 1250) setting.”
PhotographyPress - 3/10/2007 - has had the opportunity to test the 7.2 megapixel C-Lux 2 and they write, “With its large zoom range of 28 to 100mm in 35mm format, the camera’s zoom functionality responded well in our play (see images) luckily the camera features image stabilisation which helps offset that processor speed and although we didn’t have a group to shoot we suspect that the 28mm wide angle would be really helpful in party situations.”

March 25, 2007 — Leica this month has announced the ultra compact LEICA C-LUX 2 Digital Camera in either black or silver metal body. Measuring only 3.5″x2.0″, the C-LUX 2 fits into the smallest of pockets yet features a wide-angle 28mm zoom lens, 7.2-megapixel image sensor, a large 2.5″ color LCD display, as well as optical image stabilization and intelligent exposure control to help prevent camera shake and ensure optimum detail.
