My ZD710 worked great during warranty period. Shortly after that , camera turned into a Frankenstein. Sometimes camera shuts off for no apparent reason, even with new batteries. Other times when I shut the camera off, zoom lens won’t retract back into camera. When I go to download photos to my computer, I often get a message “Kodak Easyshare software has stopped working” Only solution I found is to remove camera from loading dock, turn camera back on and off and try downloading photos again. I also have issues with other software problems that seem to come and go.

in a time where you can get a kodak m1063 (a 10.3 meg camera, with a size of just 10-15 credit cars=ds put together, and that can easily fit into your wallet) coming for $40 less, I have absolutely no regrets buying this one. The 10x optical zoom alone is enough to set this one apart from most, if not all compact digis in this price range. it offers red eye reducton, focus set, timer mode, shutter speed control, f-stop control, exposure compensation control, iso control... that's a lot... and if you think its a bit too complicated for you, i guess i should let you know that to use this camera, all you need to do is point and shoot, coz with all the manual control, you have got several auto modes that control some or all of the manual controllable features. The most outstanding feature of this camera is however, is the 10x optical zoom, called super zoom by pros and mega zoom by amateurs. So if there's gotta be one reason why you're gonna buy this, its zoom. Plus, as some might have guessed, its got PASM-as if that wasn't obvious! This is a semi-pro cam you're getting at the price of an ordinary domestic cam. So be you a person who needs a camera just to capture meories, through a photography enthusiast, serious amateurs to a pro on a budget, this is the one for you!
Camera reviewersare generally top-notch pros, and the only camera thta catches that fancies are the ones in the >$1000 range. If you got any question you want an answer from an amatuer user, or an amateur's point of view, the link leads to my myspace page. Message me over there!
