Digital Camera Info - 6/4/2007 - has reviewed the Kodak EasyShare Z650 and here’s the verdict, “Despite the Z650’s strong points, it’s hard not to advise consumers to spend a little more on the Kodak EasyShare Z612. If money is a little tight, the Z650 will suffice as it does have a number of impressive features and controls that will enable competent shooting and image results. These include the streamlined shooting, editing, uploading and printing systems that connect the camera easily to printers, personal computers and the EasyShare software program. Pair this with the threaded lens barrel for accessory lenses and filters and throw in all of the other competent features and options of the Z650, many consumers may choose to opt out of spending more money and settle for this compact advanced point-and-shoot digital camera.”

What Digital Camera Mag - 9/12/2006 - (August 2006 issue) has reviewed the 6 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z650 and here’s the verdict - “Despite a general lack of true style and panache both inside and out, the Z650 offers some impressive specs and an extremely favourable level of imaging prowess.” What we liked: The Z650 comes equipped with a solid lens that yields a great overall imaging performance. It’s user friendly too, with easy-to-access features.

Trusted Reviews - 9/12/2006 - has reviewed the 6 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z650 and here’s the verdict - “The Kodak EasyShare Z650 is something of a Curate’s egg. While it does have some fairly serious flaws, it does offer a lot of image quality and zoom power for a very low price. The slow performance, lousy video mode and limited range of features are a downside, but you’d have to go a long way to find a better 10x zoom for under £160.”

Steve’s Digicams - 8/3/2006 - has reviewed the 6 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z650 and here’s the verdict - “The EasyShare Z650 is a welcomed addition to Kodak’s “Z” series line of super-zoom models. Offering great image quality, good performance, and a great deal of versatility with its 10x optical zoom and wide range of exposure modes, the Z650 offers an excellent “bang for your buck” with an MSRP of US$349! So, if you’re in the market for a full featured, affordable super- zoom model, be sure you check this one out.”

CNET - 07/05/2006 - has reviewed the 6 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z650 and rate it 7.2 out of 10. They continue to write - “Casual snapshooters who need a long zoom lens might be happy with the Kodak EasyShare Z650, though if you plan on shooting in lower light, you’ll likely want to look for a camera that has less noise at higher ISO, such as Canon’s PowerShot S3IS, or at least step up to a Kodak with image stabilization, such as the EasyShare Z612.”

Imaging Resource - 06/14/2006 - has reviewed the 6 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z650 and rhere’s the verdict - “The Kodak EasyShare Z650 brings the renowned EasyShare simplicity and ease of use to the long zoom format, balancing the full complement of exposure modes with 17 Scene modes. The 6.1-megapixel CCD captures high resolution images that make sharp 11×14 prints. The Kodak Z650’s color should appeal to most consumers too, as it’s very bright and vibrant (a good bit more so than the original subjects), yet it doesn’t oversaturate delicate skin tones.”

Cameras UK - 05/25/2006 - has reviewed the 6 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z650 and reports the verdict -

“f you are looking for a digital camera with a long zoom lens that does not cost a fortune then the Kodak EasyShare Z650 is well worth a close look. Photo quality is good and the camera also scores very highly for ease of use.”

Lets Go Digital - 05/20/2006 - has completed its review of the 6 megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z650 and report the final results in the form of the Kodak Z650 are slightly disappointing. They go on to write - “We can be concise about the final results: they are pretty good. The image quality is good and the automatic white balance generally works well. The colours look realistic and powerful and the portrait setting also gives good results with very natural skin tones. Moreover, the camera has an all round character for the snap shot photographer with its large optical range. The Schneider Kreuznach Variogon zoom lens does what you would expect of a lens from such a renowned brand.”

DP Review - 04/27/2006 - has just completed its review of the 6 megapixel Kodak Easyshare Z650 and here is the verdict. “Taken on its own the Z650 is a perfectly good camera, one capable of perfectly good results, and one that offers perfectly good value for money. Unfortunately perfectly good just isn’t enough in a market this competitive, and the Z650 suffers by comparison to some of its competitors, and because in attempting to ‘dumb down’ the feature set of the DX line Kodak cut too many important features without offering much in exchange. I’m sure it will sell well (Kodak is no small player in this market), and I’m sure those who buy it will be perfectly happy, but I would certainly look at the alternatives before handing over my money for the Z650.”

Digital Camera Info - 01/08/2006 - has an exclusive review of the 6 megapixel Kodak Easyshare Z650 at the CES 2006 and the conclusion is.

“Kodak apparently strained to hit its price point with the EasyShare Z650, leaving out image stabilization and skimping on the LCD in favor of the lavish electronic viewfinder. We think that the real problem with the camera is its lack of custom white balance - the only piece missing from a very good manual control implementation and a Kodak Color Science Chip. Still, the fundamental impression we take away from the Kodak EasyShare Z650 is one of sharp, low noise images, good color, and a very straightforward user interface. So far it looks promising; check back to see if further testing results seal the deal.”

Kodak EasyShare Z650 Initial Press Summary

“As with the entire line of EASYSHARE Z-Series cameras, the Z650 delivers more advanced control when needed and simplicity of operation for everyday situations,” said Carolyn Walsh, Product Sales Director Digital, Eastman Kodak Company. “Although the new Z650 has an impressive resolution, is also demystifies the conception that megapixels are the only standard of measurement when buying digital cameras. By adding advanced features like 10X optical zoom and a live histogram, Kodak has raised the bar by providing photographers with the tools to create high-quality photos, enhancing their overall digital photography experience.”
