“Like most touch-screen devices, the Kodak V1073 suffers from poor battery performance. During a week of testing, I had to recharge the battery at least three times—most point-and-shoot cameras can last on a single charge over the testing period.”

“Both the V1073 and V1273 are beautiful to look at, and the touch-screen interface, while a problem for some people, is well designed and operates fairly smoothly. However both cameras suffer from slow overall performance and serious image quality issues.”

“The Kodak Easyshare V1073 is a very nice, compact, 10-megapixel digital camera. The optical image stabilization and 3″ touch screen LCD are great new features that really make the camera stand out.”

“The test camera came without an instruction manual but we had no trouble finding our way around the various functions – the mark of an intuitive piece of equipment. We liked the zappy, Kodak-style images and were impressed with the print quality, even up to A4. Touch screens are not much to our liking, they seem more gimmicky than useful. And the zoom control is ridiculously small.”

“Like its previously-tested big brother, the 12-megapixel EasyShare V1273, this Kodak is a triumph of form over function. Sure, it looks good and the large touchscreen is a fun gimmick, but its average, over-baked images simply aren’t worth the effort of struggling through such a sluggish, time-consuming interface.”

“If you’re looking for an easy-to-use camera that’ll shoot good quality images, this is the one for you. But don’t expect too much on the video quality front. But if you’re looking for something a little more adventurous in a similar budget, the Canon SX100IS is something you’ll definitely like.”

The Final Word – Kodak’s Easyshare V1073 is a good all-round compact combining nice images with some nifty features and a touch-screen interface.”

Actual Owner Feedback

Kodak Easyshare V1073

Frustratingly decent camera with severe limitations
Perhaps the biggest drawback is with it’s very hallmark. The Perfect Touch pseudo-postprocessing technology does well in bright sunny days with blue skies and green plants – but it tends not to choose the correct settings in early or late hours, or at night.

THE i-Pod of Digital Cameras
This is THE BEST digital camera I have ever used/owned. In the time we have owned the camera, the pictures, video, and ease of use have been incredible.

Kodak Easy Share V1073
The pictures are so clear and vibrant. It’s a fun camera for any age. We have a Kodak all in one printer and the pictures print out better than the ones we had done at a store Kiosk.

Sleek!
The camera is one of it’s kind. I was scared when I first read the reviews but all that is gone now as I am enjoying the camera. It makes me stand out wherever I go. The earlier reviews, about the battery cover flipping open occasionally, is one giant lie.

Okay photos; horrible video HD playback on PC
Don’t buy this camera to use for video unless you don’t mind it looking worse than what you’ll find on You Tube. The video playback is horrible on a Pentium IV 3.0GhZ, 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI Radeon, 120 GB Sata-150 hard drive.

This is my 5th Digital Camera, my 2nd Kodak..
I love this small compact camera with touch screen! I haveonly had it for a week or so, but have found the QUALITY pics are far better than my Olympus 4000c series… Very SHARP and the auto focus can be viewed each time the camera is moved on to a new image to shot..
But, might can give a more update on my review after about a month or so!
I would reccomend this to anyone for sure!

I just baught this camera the other day to replace my crappy pictures from my LG Voyager. First of all, as a major plus, I didn’t have to install any of the software on my Windows Vista PC. I just plug it on and I can either auto-load my pictures or edit them in a folder. Almost all of my friends cameras require you to install their bullshit software before you can do anything. Second, the burst ability on it makes it so when you take a picture you take 3 in rapid succession. This feature is wonderful because I don’t know how many times I’ve had to take multiple pictures because someone’s eyes were closed or soeone had a weird twitch. The low light ability looks wonderful when taking that pic of the really hot girl on the dance floor. So as a night life standing I highly recomend this camera.
