LetsGoDigital – 11 November’07 – has reviewed the HP Photosmart R937 and comments that camera has an impressive large LCD and few buttons. Here’s an excerpt from their review conclusion -
“All in all HP once again succeed in surprising us with a nice camera. They just know how to design easy to operate cameras with useful functions without useless ballast. Of course the enhanced photographer will find this camera too simple, but he/she can find his/her thing at other brands. For those who want easy and simple photography it is well-worth looking at the HP assortment. However; before I can be completely enthusiastic, HP should put some time and effort into one issue and that is noise.”
PCMag – 25 October’07 – has reviewed the HP Photosmart R937 and sharred that the on/off button is too easy to get confused with the flash mode button. Here’s an excerpt from their review verdict -
The R937 is a quick-enough shooter to handle candid shots: It had a very good boot-up time (2.6 seconds) and recycle time (2.2 seconds) on my tests. It also records smooth Motion JPEG video with sound, although it doesn’t produce the sharpest footage I’ve seen from a point-and-shoot.
PCWorld reviews the HP Photosmart R937 and writes;
“In PC World Test Center tests, images looked bright and colorful; the scores for sharpness and distortion, however, were roughly average. My own photos looked stunning, with strong contrast and vivid (though slightly unnatural) colors. The R937 uses a single USB port for both downloading images and charging the lithium ion battery. At 261 shots on a single charge, battery life was a bit above average, surprising considering the large size and brightness of the LCD.”
CNET reviews the HP Photosmart R937 and writes;
“The HP Photosmart R937’s well-designed touchscreen interface and quick performance make it a very tempting camera, but I simply can’t overlook its extreme noise levels. Though the camera is great to shoot with, the photos you’re left with are often barely usable.
The bottom line: If not for the massive amounts of noise in some photos, the HP Photosmart R937 would be a good point-and-shoot camera.”
All Things Digital – 7/20/2007 – reviews the HP Photosmart R937 and wished the screen quality of the 3.6 inch LCD was high enough to stand up to bright sunlight. The reviewer Walt Mossberg also thought the R937 was a bit too bulky however its huge LCD screen had ample room for navigational icons. Still, this camera could not be considered a pocket camera.
