How To Customize The Olympus Evolt E-500

Olympus’s 8 megapixel Evolt E-500 has a few customizations up its sleeve and Wrotniak reveals them to us all. “customizing your E-500 may seem, at the first glance at least, a little overwhelming; especially, but not only, for a film photographer who decided to take a plunge into digital. To make things worse, the manual is not always helpful enough in explaining what exactly this or that setting means.

This may be why I’m receiving many questions about preference settings for the E-500. This, clearly is not a “one size fits all” situation, but to save myself time I decided to write this article.

What I’m talking about are, mostly at least, not the settings you are likely to change often, from one frame to another. Most of these are the “user preferences” customizing the camera to your liking only to be forgotten about, and rarely, if ever, changed by the user. Even if your preferences about them will turn out to be different than mine, at least I hope to help you to make an educated decision.”
