Nikon has also announced four new Coolpix compact cameras. The world’s first compact camera with an in-built projector, the Coolpix S1000PJ. The Coolpix S70 is designed around a 3.5 inch touch-sensitive OLED screen. New advances in screen technologies register multiple touches making the camera more responsive and easier on batteries. Features include an optically stabilized 5x zoom lens (28-140mm equiv.), 12.1 megapixel sensor and HD video recording.
Next is the S640 – the speediest Coolpix to date, and according to Nikon offers ‘DSLR-like focus speed.’ Also featured is an ‘air gapless’ screen which fits the protective outer panel tighter to the LCD for better contrast. Along with the less cheaper S570, it features a 5x optically stabilized zoom lens starting at 28mm, 2.7 inch LCD and 12 megapixel sensor. The S570 does not include the S640’s air gapless screen, fast AF and USB charger.

One touch projection

The built-in projector easily projects an image size from approximately 5 inches up to 40 inches*1.
