Product Photographers Rejoice - How To Build Your Own Cheap Light Tent

If you are an eBay seller or a product photographer lets face it, the best photos are made with a light tent. Light tents are basically a way to distribute nice soft diffused light in a controlled situation. If you run down to your local photographic supply and buy one you’re in for a surprise, they’re not cheap.

So it’s not a question of IF you need one, it’s a question of how long can you hold off either buying one OR using this easy-to-follow build instructions at Bill Hubers site. Bill does a great job of taking you by the hand and showing you exactly how easy the light table is to build and he even shows you some of the photographic results from it use.

Digital Camera Tracker – Exceptional eBay Photos Part 2: Using this lighting technique will instantly and dramatically transform your eBay photos.

These items have been photographed with an inexpensive light table described in Part 1 of our eBay series. The following photographs will give you an idea of just how effective this technique can be.

Digital Camera eBay Light Table Photos

Any digital camera can be used to achieve these professional results. The effectiveness in these eBay digital photos is being able to position lights under the table so items can be highlighted. Depending on your eBay ad layout you could use a colored lighting gel over the light under the table. One of the more subtle yet striking aspects of this technique is that it yields a professional gradation in background tone.

Note: Make sure you use a tripod! It helps to be able to frame your photos then move lights around to achieve just the right effect.

This frame costs less than $15.00 total to build! The frame is 58" tall, 26" deep, and 24" wide. Of course you could make the frame any dimensions you choose. The black light stands and reflectors were purchased from a pawn shop for $55.00. The two silver refelctors were purchased at Home Depot for $7.95 each. Below you’ll find the SECRET weapon for taking GREAT digital photos.

You’ll run out of items to photograph before you burn these things out. Mine cost about $15.00 each.
