DPReview - 4/11/2007 - reviews the 6.3 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F31fd and writes, “Unlike so many manufacturers that produce amazing cameras with average sensors, Fuji has an amazing sensor and - to be brutally honest - an average camera. As with the F30 this is a camera that wins a Highly Recommended only if you regularly shoot in low light - if you only ever take pictures in blazing sunshine there are competitors with far more impressive feature lists or lower prices. But you just can’t take away from Fuji the fact that - at this moment in time - this unassuming little 6MP camera still sets the benchmark for image quality in the entire compact sector. It’s also a surprisingly reliable ‘point and shoot’ model with excellent color and accurate focus/metering in most circumstances.”

PhotographyReview - 4/10/2007 - reviews the 6.3 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F31fd and writes, “The Fujifilm FinePix F31fd does a lot of things very well. Any failings the camera has are either minimal or standard among comparable cameras.
Face Detection sets the Fujifilm F31fd apart and makes it a leading contender for children and group photos that are usually a challenge for most point-and-shoot digital cameras.
The Fujifilm FinePix F31fd captures images that print well, it’s a strong performer in a wide set of photographic conditions, and it’s compact and handy enough to be an everyday all-purpose camera.”

DigitalTrends - 4/4/2007 - reviews the 6.3 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F31fd and writes, “This is a good not great 6.3-megapixel digicam. Although it has a lot going for it, it really didn’t ring the bell for me. There were issues with sharpness, some focusing problems and the camera labored saving big files. And Face Detection, one of its highly touted features, didn’t measure up to competitors. If the F31fd dipped well below $300, I’d consider it but this Made In China digicam didn’t make my most favored list.”

Cameras.co.uk - 4/3/2007 - reviews the 6.3 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F31fd and writes, “I’m a big fan of the Fuji Finepix F31fd. If you are looking for a digital camera with a bit of style that takes a good photo then this one is worth a close look. It has one or two extra features that come in handy, especially in lowlight. Therefore an area that can be a weakness with other digital cameras is a strength with this one.”

Cameras.co.uk has a video guide to the 6.3 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F31fd and writes, “Instead of image stabilization the Finepix F31fd has an anti blur mode. There is a subtle or perhaps not so subtle difference between these two modes. Genuine image stabilization works by using tiny compensating movements either in the lens or in [...]

PCWorld - 3/19/2007 - reviews the 6.3 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F31fd and writes, “The antishake mode simply increases the shutter speed and ISO to reduce blur. Considering that the F31fd can go up to ISO 3200, that’s no small potatoes, but you may have to accept more digital noise in exchange for your sharper photos, which you wouldn’t if the camera offered optical image stabilization.
If you like shooting in low light or taking lots of pictures of people, the F31fd should prove to be a worthy workhorse.”
