Canon PowerShot SD700 ISPCWorld has reviewed the 6 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD700 IS / IXUS 800 IS and write - “An excellent 2.5-inch LCD panel dominates the back of the camera. The image is sharp and bright, and it’s fast enough that looking at it is like watching a small television. You can choose a movie mode that captures 60 frames per second (albeit at 320-by-240 resolution), and the LCD easily keeps up. Or you can opt for 640-by-480 resolution at 30 fps. The image does get slightly grainy at full zoom–but that has no effect on captured image quality, of course.”

Canon PowerShot SD700 ISDigital Camera Shopper Mag (September 2006 issue) has reviewed the 6 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD700 IS / IXUS 800 IS and write - “In our tests the optical stabilizer worked like a treat, enabling much slower shutter speeds than we would normally expect to use, without having to resort to flash. Best of all though, the color contract and sharpness of images delivered by the Canon PowerShot SD700 IS was consistently dazzlingly excellent.”

Canon PowerShot SD700 ISDPExpert has posted a new review of the 6 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD700 IS / IXUS 800 IS and write - “The Canon Ixus 800is goes to the top of the list of pocketable digicams alongside the Sony DSC-W100. The Sony has more pixels on a bigger sensor. The Canon wins the glamour stakes. Both have optical viewfinders. The Canon has image stabilisation and costs $100 more. Both are highly recommended and whichever is chosen it will not be the wrong choice!”

Photography Blog has a new review of the 6 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD700 IS / IXUS 800 IS and writes - “Easy to use, reliable, fast in operation – and delivering pictures that, for the most part, require little if any post processing – the Canon PowerShot SD700 IS / Digital IXUS 800 IS suggests itself as one of the better (perhaps even one of the best) compromises between style, features and portability. Its zoom range is better than many fashion-orientated compacts at 4x, the LCD is large and clear enough to make framing and reviewing images a stress free process, while real optical image stabilization on such a camera, if not quite perfect, is still a real plus.”

DigitalCameraReview has posted a new review of the 6 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD700 IS / IXUS 800 IS and write - “With several trade shows to attend each year, a couple of my colleagues ended up with the SD700 IS. They don’t like to carry large cameras, but were getting increasingly disappointed with the images from their older, slim cameras that didn’t do well in low light. With the SD700 IS, they get a camera that can take excellent shots of the latest and greatest electronics in the sometimes challenging light of trade show exhibits. All while still being small enough to easily pocket and not be too noticeable.”

DPReview has posted a new review of the 6 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD700 IS / IXUS 800 IS and write - “Whereas virtually ever other Ixus/ELPH camera I’ve reviewed over the last few years has failed, in some way, to produce image quality that quite lived up to the promise of such attractive and luxurious external design and construction, the SD 700 IS really does, for the most part, deliver the goods.”
