March 14, 2007 — Casio has released new firmware updates for several of their digital cameras; EX-S770, EX-Z1000, and the EX-Z850 models. The updates enhance or correct issues with each of the cameras and is recommended to all owners of these camera models. Firmware updates are a way for manufacturers to add or enhance functionality of their cameras without making the consumer ship back their camera to a service center. Firmware updates are easily downloadable - and with camera connected to the PC - are easily installed. Listed below are the details of each firmware update:

Casio EX-Z850 Firmware Revision 1.20 and 1.20B

  • Revision 1.20
  • Provides support for SDHC memory cards with capacities of 8 GB or greater.
  • Revision 1.20B
  • Fixes a problem with V1.1B snapshot processing.
  • SDHC memory card support
  • Better HQ Mode movie quality (less digital noise, smoother lines) than the previous firmware version
