Digital Camera Review
“A huge 3.0 inch screen, amazing ease of use, and dependably impressive images in good light, beginners, casual photographers, family photographers, and weight/size conscious travelers will love the A2000.”

DigicamReview
“Image quality is generally very good, and although noise is quite high compared to the competition, images are useable up to ISO400 and tend to maintain good detail.”

Steves Digicams
“It has good performance and quality while also being more versatile than many other entry level cameras via the 6x optical zoom lens with O.I.S. One thing to keep in mind is the absence of the optical view finder, something we have become accustomed to on the “A” series models.”

“If picture quality and a bit of value for money is more important to you than digging deeper for a more stylish, pocket camera then the Powershot A2000 IS makes an excellent choice. The extra zoom offered by the 6x is a handy bonus.”

PhotoReview
“Test shots taken in bright sunlight with the review camera contained a fair amount of detail, although the autofocusing system wasn’t entirely accurate on all occasions. Particularly with close-ups, shots were often captured without the subject being sharp and the image stabilisation system didn’t provide complete immunity to camera shake in indoor lighting.”

GoodGearGuide
“Manual and preset white balance modes are on offer, along with face detection and red-eye correction. Image stabilisation means you can shoot pictures while using the 6x zoom lens by hand and not worry too much about blurring.”

TrustedReviews
“The Canon PowerShot A2000 IS is a little expensive for a mid-level compact, and the overall build quality and low-angle monitor may cause some disappointment.”

PhotographyBlog
“The A2000 IS also suffers from less than stellar image quality in low-light due to obvious noise appearing at ISO 400 and faster, the lack of any hand-grip which makes it difficult to hold, annoyingly slow flash recycle times, and a slow continuous shooting speed.”

Actual Owner Feedback
“I have used at least 10 digital cameras in the past 10 years, not counting the SLRs. At this price, $249, I think what this camera offers is as good as you can get from a pocket camera.”

“If you really desire a camera that accepts alkaline batteries, put the A2000 IS on your list. If the battery issue is not important to you, I would avoid this camera.”
Portion of user comment on Amazon.com
“So I invested in this one as soon as it came out. Big mistake: When the flash is on, it takes more than 5 seconds to shoot pictures in sequence. So if you’re trying to take animal pictures, or even pictures of kids, the moment will be lost.”

“I thought this 10 meg camera would blow my old Casio 5 meg out of the water! Wrong…. The zoom was nice but everything else is sub par.”
