Auto FX Software, Birmingham, Ala., USA, introduces a “Mystical Painter Bundle” with software to transform digital photos into works of art, says the company. The bundle consists of Corel Painter IX and Auto FX Mystical Lighting, a suite of 16 photographic effects that adds photo-realistic lighting and shading effects to digital images. It can be used to add highlights, shadows and shading to images — via brushes, if desired. Users can also simulate mist, blowing snow, stars, streaming light, flares, rainbows and other natural effects.
The bundle contains the Windows and Mac versions of each program and comes with training CDs that offer more than 11 hours of instructional material. Using built-in tools in Painter IX, users can trace around parts of a photo and use brushes to fill in colors and blend the media together.
