Pentax Announces 6 Megapixel Submersible Optio WPi: Pentax announced today their new 6 megapixel waterproof Optio WPi has surfaced. Looks like the new Optio can go to as deep as 1.5m for up to 30 minutes and as you might suspect this digital is dustproof. One nice feature users will surely appreciate is the new Recovery function. Now those accidentally deleted images can be brought back to life, as long as you don’t overwrite the data on turn the camera off. additional features include a 2″ LCD, 3x optical zoom, in-camera movie editing and a 1cm macro mode. Looks like the Optio WPi will be on the shelves in September.

Pentax Announces 6 Megapixel Optio S6: Pentax announced today a new S series digital camerea the 6 megapixel Optio S6. this ultra compact is only 19 mm wide and has a 2.5″ Bea-Reflective monitor which lets users see it even the brightest of outdoor light. I am positively surprised about the quality of the high resolution images, especially the ISO 200 and 400 ones. Shooting under sometimes difficult conditions with contrast of black and pure white details none of the images were taken by any “noise surprise”. The strength of the Super CCD HR is able to establish itself by delivering impressive low noise values…”
Nikon D70 Shakedown Review Outcome – Nearly Perfect: Photographic magazine reviewer Mike Stensvoid recently put the Nikon D70 through it paces to see if it deserved the high marks it receives throughout the photo industry.
Improvements include better AF performance with fast-moving subjects, a larger LCD monitor (2.0″ vs. 1.8″) with color-coded menus and larger type, a wider angle of coverage for the built-in Speedlight (18mm lens vs. 20mm), a higher-capacity battery (providing up to 2500 shots vs. 2000 for the original D70), and a new remote port for the optional MC-DC1 electronic cable release.
