Pentax Plans On Handing Pink Slip To 300 Workers: Tokyo Stock Exchange - Pentax recently told its investors that over the next two years 300 jobs will be cut to compensate for losses in its digital imaging division. Pentax announced that the employee cuts as well as other reduction measures will save the camera manufacturer $1.6 million by the spring of 2007 to the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

New Sensor Prevents Blinking In Digital Images: Japanese developer Masahide Kaneko have developed an image-analysis system for digital cameras that eliminate blinking. Kaneko’s system gets around the blinking problem by taking 15 frames in 0.5 seconds after the shutter button is clicked.

Canon Bug Erases All Images On DSLRs: Canon acknowledged that because of a bug in the EOS-1Ds Mark II and EOS-1D Mark II under “certain circumstances” causes the camera to hang and all images erased. If you shoot in JPEG+RAW mode and hit the Display button immediately after shooting, the display goes white, the camera locks up and you lose all images in the buffer.
