Anyone who has used Lightroom will agree it is a wonderful piece of software that allows you to not only organize images but it’s post production and imaging correction capabilities are very strong and with the release of Lightroom 2, it’s now even stronger.
One of Lightrooms more powerful features and perhaps the number one reason to own it is the Adjustment Brush which allows you to perform a very high percentage of image retouching without any trips to Photoshop. If you have hesitated to upgrade or thinking about purchasing Lightroom 2.2, it’s time.
Adjustment Brush you can alter one, or all, of the these attributes.
- Exposure – Try to use Brightness first.
- Brightness – Use to bring back shadow detail. Bring out highlights in very dark hair/eyes.
- Contrast – Nice to make clouds pop a bit more.
- Saturation -Careful with this, don’t over do it.
- Clarity – Try using slight negative values for a nice effect with portraits.
- Sharpness – Use on the eyes in a portrait.
- Color – Does a really good job enhancing the color of eyes and lips.
- Soften Skin – This basically just paints in -100 Clarity which doesn’t give the best results at the default setting. Try smaller amounts of – Clarity and maybe a touch of + brightness
